Burn Your Bridges was a six piece death metal outfit from Pembroke Pines. This show on the 12th of June was their last and I had the great pleasure of being there to see it. With two strong, throaty vocalists and a strong lead and rhythm guitar combo, they laid down some heavy music. It was driving, dynamic, well timed, and had plenty of substance. Between JT and Chris, the vocal duties were easily executed between heavy, throaty growls (JT) and higher pitched screams (Chris), they had great range. The bassist and both guitars were punchy, distorted just enough, and provided an aural assault on the listener. What I found most surprising about their songs was the attention to the drum lines and sequences which Josh played with not only surgical precision but also with a smile on his face. Luckily for all of us, this was Josh’s last show before he was shipped off to the Navy the next day and he put everything he had into the performance.

In the Broward metal scene, these guys are local legends.
