Fall Of Olympus at Propaganda on 2010-06-29
Death thrash crossover bands are terribly numerous in West Palm Beach but Fall Of Olympus fits that bill perfectly. These guys grew up listening to Bay area thrash when it was real and raw, before Florida-style death metal was ever conceived and their music is the perfect showcase of that. Fast, heavy guitar riffs, blazing bass lines, and blast beats that can surely blow out a car stereo without too much trouble. Then, with a name as grandiose as Fall Of Olympus, one would expect the lead singer to live up and he definitely does. He’s insanely tall and can growl like something from the depths of Hell. When you put this altogether, it’s definitely both a throwback to and progression of thrash metal without being too wrapped up in speed metal trappings. Their no-nonsense stage show is a testament to the fact that they came to do one thing: rock.
