Fate Of A Traitor at The Pit on 2010-11-20
Every once in a while, I see a band that surprises me. Sometimes those bands are full of young kids playing their hearts out as hard as they can and it’s satisfyingly impressive. I like being impressed, but it’s something that doesn’t happen often. For me, Fate Of A Traitor turned out to be one of those bands that gets me. They’re a deathcore band that veers far further off into the ‘death’ portion of the genre than falling into the ‘core’ part. With vocal stylings more akin to deathgrind and heavy, drop tuned crushing riffs, it’s serious business for these guys. I thoroughly enjoyed their set although their singer, JR, was incredibly difficult to photograph. Based on what I heard, these kids have the start of something good going on and can only get better over time.
