Want to see a group of young kinds rocking out and playing covers of rock and metal better than some of the original bands? You’ll want to do yourself a favor and check out Kamantra, I promise that you will not be disappointed. As their Facebook page so proudly exclaims “bringing back the metal”, they certainly do that. The young quartet absolutely slays covers of classics from Van Halen, Mountain (thank you!), DIO, Iron Maiden, and many more. In doing covers of classic and epitomal rock and metal songs, they display a deft musical prowess — singing in the key of Bruce Dickinson or fret noodlin’ the way Eddie does can be tough even for seasoned rock musicians. Their covers catalog included some surprising songs and skill so I have very high hopes for their original material, which they’re busy writing and perfecting.
