The hardcore scene in South Florida is small but still large enough to have varied styles easily coexist. West Palm Beach’s With The Approach play what I can most closely align to second wave hardcore. The breakdowns are bit heavier and the songs really chug along at a moderate tempo, great for two stepping and some serious moshing. They produce a large sound for being a quartet, it’s almost refreshing to hear a hardcore band with only one guitar, it allows the guitarist greater dynamic range over the course of a song. Greg, the vocalist, has a ton of energy and makes great use of the stage during their sets, even jumping off stage and interacting with the crowd when possible. Although young, they’ve made some real waves down here during their tenure as a band, be on the look out.
